Keeping the hope alive - week 4

看来这个计划越来越不现实了。这游泳关将会很困难,在海水里游1200米很严重。现在真的只有20米的水平啊。

这个星期要帮女儿搬家,开学,训练计划将会打断得很厉害。不过计划还是得有,打乱的计划还有再被打乱的时候。没有计划,怎么知道计划被打乱了呢?

Plan: Mon. Off (work at office, back to school shopping at night)

本来不想off的,晚上一出去shopping就不可能挤出去Gym的时间了。So be it.

8/26/08

Plan: Tue. Swim 45 (personal day, help daughter move)

不错,在水里确实泡了45分钟。游了一些蛙泳,练了不少自由泳的分解动作。

Plan: Wed. Run 35, swim 30 (work at office)

跑了30分钟(记错了,应该跑35分钟的)。换上游泳衣才发现游泳池里有很多人。没有游上。以后再补吧。

Did as planned. It turned out that this is the last day I could stick with this plan.

Plan: Fri. Swim 30, run 30 (if work at office) bike 50 (if work at home)

Did nothing. Had to go to work. Came back late to help my daughter packing and preparing the trip to DC.

8/30/08-8/31/08

Plan: Sat. & Sun. Off (trip to DC)

The trip to DC was exhausting. We arrived in DC at 4pm. Helped daughter moving in. Checked into a hotel at night. Had pretty good Thai food for dinner. Sunday morning on way back we shopped in Delaware. Arrived home in the evening.

8/18/08

Plan: Mon. run 15, swim 30 (work at office)

啊,星期一。一个星期中最有活力,最能遵守计划的一天。下班回来,以最快的速度做好,吃好晚饭,带女儿去了一个店铺,就冲到Gym去了。跑了30分钟,2.25miles。感觉膝盖有些疼,不敢快跑。游泳30分钟。自由泳游25yd已经能比较轻松了,转个身再游25yd也能对付,速度还是慢,打腿还是不行。

Plan: Tue. bike 25 (if work at home)

好简单的plan。趁机把车骑到车店去了,让Nelson帮我调整了一下左边换档的cable,又骑回来。一共7.8miles。今晚有很多时间看奥运会。

Guess what? My PT called me to move tomorrow's training tonight! Well, so be it. I attended the session.

Off. Sore and tight from last night's workout. Oh, by the way, I need to order some gears. I will look for a heart rate monitor with stop watch function.

不知道Gym星期五晚上10点钟就关门。只好run 20,swim 20. 自由泳连游了100yd,自我感觉脚的动作十分不对,于是特意练了脚打水,但手脚并用时还是不行。

Plan: Sat. Bike 45

骑了bike course 两圈。已经熟悉路程,哪里上坡,哪里下坡都清楚了。在beach试着游泳,水不太冷,浪也不太大,就是水咸得受不了!另外沙滩上都是鹅卵石,赤脚根本不能走路!

Plan: Sun swim 25 (open water)

实际:off。不好意思。等好不容易做完家里大大小小的事,游泳的时机就没了。另外,今天还有没完成的工作放不下。Stressful.

8/11/08

Plan: Mon. swim 25 (work at office)practice freestyle at gym

计划很顺利,共游泳30分钟,蛙泳和自由泳交替。好像自由泳有了一点点长进。晚上看奥运,看完以后又工作2小时。到凌晨2:30才睡。

8/12/08

Plan: Tue. bike 30 (work at home) trip to beach

完全地没有实现计划。因为要去办公室工作。昨晚睡得少,今晚上很困,准备早点睡。明天在家工作,完全有时间把脱下的补上。

8/13/08

Plan: Wed. run 25 (work at office) gym. Revised plan: (work at home) bike 30 (trip to beach), run 25 at beach

没有骑车。临时发现两条骑车裤都在洗衣机里了。想想其实骑车分量已经够了,准备以后weekday就集中精力连跑步和游泳。晚上去gym,跑45分钟,由于预热不充分,右侧后背痛,只好降低速度,共跑3.5哩。游泳30分钟,一半蛙泳,一半自由泳。

Plan: Thu. PT session (work at office)

PT和我都心不在焉。奥运太精彩了,我们4个眼睛都离不开电视。课程进行得比较草率,不过还是出了很多汗。

8/15/08

Plan: Fri. swim 30, run 30 (work at home) gym

又是一个没有完成计划的日子。昨晚上回家,发现忘了把硬盘带回来了。在家工作不成,只好去办公室。回家已经精疲力尽了。运动量明天补上吧。

8/16/08

Plan: Sat. off

实际:run: warm up 13min/1mile, run 30min/2.75miles. On treadmill. 没找到机会游泳,因为太多事要做,游泳馆周末开放时间太短。

8/17/08

Plan: Sun. bike 45+ (target: 45miles/3hr)

实际:直接把车骑到beach去了。在bike course 上骑了两圈,在run course上跑了一圈。骑车的总里程没有达到target。Beach太美了,忍不住要停下来跑,没办法。

本周小结:要事先做计划,还要应付突如其来的变化。当一个业余运动员不容易啊。我现在每次workout都争取比计划多做那么一点点,这样当有突如其来的变化时,整个一周的总量不会受太多影响。

下周计划: 本来是要实行week 6的,但那是一个rest week。我没有从week 1做起,所以应该把rest week 移后三周。这样rest week就正好是MS-150的那个周。

Triathlon, triathlon! - Week 1

Keeping up with reality-week 1

8/4/08
Plan: Mon. swim 20, run 25 (work at office)

上班下班很准时,所以计划也很顺利。实际上在跑步机上跑了30分钟,2.75miles,按气喘程度估计,应该是比在户外慢得多。游泳25分钟,断断续续。一开始自由泳只能游10yard左右,后来有两次游完25yard。

Plan: Tue. bike 30 (work at home, 1/2 day medical appointment)

实际骑12miles,55minutes。下午的车水马龙,大太阳。实在不是理想时段。以后争取一早出去。

8/6/08
Plan: Wed. swim 25, run 25 (work at office)

今天比平时多工作一小时。实际跑和游泳各30分钟。哈哈,这比在跑步机上的60分钟有意思多了。自由泳可以有把握地游25yard了,当然姿势不标准的说。

8/7/08
Plan: Thu. PT session (work at office)

PT照常。今天比平时多花一小时在路上,气死人。明天还要去上班,可能会回来晚,赶不上看奥运会开幕式。

OFF!奥运会开幕式,现在不做沙发土豆更待何时?

8/9/08

实际:bike 10 miles, bike course 一圈

实际:bike 39 miles (2小时45分), 前10迈hilly。avg 13.5mph。

周末总结:计划必不可少。这星期骑车比较多,跑步和游泳量较少。希望下星期跑步游泳增多些。但是,骑车是为MS-150做准备,不能减。所以运动总量将会比这星期稍有增加。

下周进入plan week 5, 所有指标都是按分钟:

Only 10 weeks left to the Bug Beach Triathlon! To tri or not to tri?

I finally got around to do my home work.

晚上在网上下载了一个训练日程,是一小伙子为他的59岁的母亲设计的。原则是如果你能持续地做到20分钟游泳,20分钟骑车,30分钟跑步,通过这个13周的训练,你就应该能够完成sprint triathlon (~0.5 mile swim, 12 mile bike, 3 mile run)。

我的现状是:
1. Bug Beach 的比赛,10月12日,离现在只有10周了,
2. 比赛的距离是 0.75 mile swim, 17 mile bike, 3.1 mile run,游泳和骑车比一般的要长些,
3. 从来没在海水里游过泳,自由泳的不会,
4. 但是,我有参加rookie triathlon 的经历,已经练了挺长时间了。

现在的目标:
1.完成13周训练日程中后10周的训练
2.争取在比赛之前减5-10磅。

另外,参加MS-150还在日程上,9月13-14日。我在网上注了册,给自己断了后路。有一个月的间隔,应该对triathlon不会有影响的。

Aug. 4, 2008 (plan requirement:bike 45min)

去Bug Beach探路,进门时我的 parking sticker 居然有用,不收钱,省7刀,不错。

骑了一遍bike course,比赛时是骑2圈的,第一次骑,停下来看路多次,还走了些冤枉路,好不容易完成一圈,已将近50分钟。以后路熟了,会顺利得多。

跑了一圈run course,1.5 miles,意犹未尽,又跑一圈。

没带游泳衣,无法下水。以后一定记得带。10月份海水一定冷,还要记得租或买wetsuit。为了尽量使得训练为比赛所用,以后就去Bug Beach练,实在去不了就去积木。

从下周开始直接进入plan week 4, 所有指标都是按分钟:
